If you drive a ford diesel truck make sure you get it serviced once in a while we have a truck that has to go in to the shop for the second time this year.
you do not mention if this is a common rail diesel motor . If it is there is no timing marks as it just pressurizes the system to 22.000 psi. If it has individual lines from the pump then best have it done by an accredited diesel shop that is doing the job of servicing he pump.
you are going to have to remove the fuel filter and reinstall it making sure that you have filled it with diesel fuel to eliminate as much air as possible.
