1998 ford f-150 wiper problem I turn then on they just wiggle

Its related to switch's one of them is shorting or bad

Sounds like linkage issue

more than likely the arm popped of the wiper transmission you will need to remove both wiper arms and the wiper cowl to inspect

Open the hood. The motor and linkages are mounted on the bulkhead just below the windscreen. As you mentioned its probably the linkage.

tap on the wiper motor with a hammer with the key on and wiper on,if it works then replace the wiper motor,which cost about $60.00-$100.00---my ford did that and the magnet inside the motor was broken in little pieces....if the motor doesnt work after tapping on it,even a little, then check for a bad fuse,or wiggle the switch on the end of the signal switch

the splines and bushing/bearing on the wiper transmission are probably the cause see how much play there is one side vs the other gently shaking each by hand

I have the same problem on my 1998 Ext:Cab F-150 the windows wont do anything and my dome light will not light up. Does anybody know what would be causeing this problem

1-remove wiper arms 2-remove cowl 3-undo linkage drive from wiper motor 4-remove elect.connection from wiper motor,remove mounting bolts,remove wiper motor.
