Why is alarm red light on radio - i removed add on alarm years ago? battery drain and i dont know why 1997 accord

If the alarm red light on your radio is on even though you removed the add-on alarm years ago, it is possible that the alarm system is still active and causing a drain on your battery. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the wiring: Make sure that all of the wiring related to the alarm system has been properly disconnected. It's possible that some wiring may have been missed when the alarm was removed, which could be causing the issue.
  2. Check the fuse: The alarm system may have a dedicated fuse that is still active and causing a drain on the battery. Check the fuse panel for any fuses related to the alarm system and remove them if necessary.
  3. Disconnect the battery: If you're unable to locate the cause of the issue, you may need to disconnect the battery to stop the drain. Be sure to follow proper safety procedures when disconnecting the battery.
If these steps do not fix the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the alarm system itself or with another component of the car. In this case, it is recommended to have a mechanic or dealership technician diagnose and repair the issue.

When I turn on my headlights, my radio goes dark and plays static. The domelight and floor lights go on, my dashboard lights don't work, and my tail lights don't work. If the headlights are off, the radio...

It sure sounds like you have a case of "sneak circuits"
These are usually caused by a bad ground somewhere and something is "grounding" through the light bulbs.
Have you changed any wiring or installed a stereo or some other accessory?
You might use a jumper wire and ground the dash and other areas to the negative battery post as a way to find the culprit.

My 94 jeep grand cherokee blinkers and hazards don't work at ALL. the radio comes on when it wants...HELP PLEASE!!

Check for dirty connection at the fuse block ( under the dash) check for loose wire s here too . Possible shaky fuse . (These are cheap)

Have a look at the relay box under teh hood . These things are small cube shaped boxes with econnectors that sometimes go bad. you can mak which one goes where and trade them to see if theres a change. If radio works after a single swap of thes relays then the one you moved is the culprit. Go buy another Note that if something else has gone amiss its that bad relay. The new one may be rotated through the set of connectors until problem is resolved.
first, Check wires leading to the radio. It could be an add-on installation with a flaky fuse holder. its an inline thing that twists apart. turn on ignition and twist this fuse holder to see if it affects things.( listen for on and off whilst monkeying with connector) If so, another can be had dirt cheap at an auto parts store.
You'll cut out the bad one and splice in the new one.
The two things may not have the same root cause. in other words, the hazards switch may be gunked up. Get some tv radio spray cleaner contact cleaner at Radio Shack or an electronics place or hardware store. and clean the switch. There's als o blinker relay unde rthe dash board that may be stuck. These are cheap and easily replaced.

Car alarm stopped working.. Car wont start

the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.
