This is a common problem in blu ray discs, the reason why it won't play is because they play at a faster speed and demand a higher precision to produce the high definition signal required to play the program. The only way to fix this is to replace the whole laser pickup assembly which would not be cost effective.
The best advice I have to offer for the Vizio VBR120 is to replace it with a better player from LG, Sony or Samsung. I replaced mine with a LG BR540 and haven't looked back. With Vizio you get what you pay for, junk. There is no update for a Vizio VBR120.

Hi I'm not 100% sure what dynex model you have however i am aware that not all models have the red/yellow and white composite plugs. So you best bet is to use an hdmi cable it will give you best picture and can be brought of ebay from £3.
If the tv as a scart plug connector, you can get a red/yellow/white adepter to Covent it to scart like the images below:
