When I turn the power on, the TV goes into Scan for channels mode, and continues looping.

Main system control memory IC fault. Check and replace it. Contact any service technician. Try a hard reset too. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Wont stop changing channels

Check and replace the main system memory IC. It is faulty. It is a very small IC, won't cost more. An eight solder terminal IC. Even though the physical size is small, function to it when the TV works is great. The work is a skilled one.

Hello. My 32" Emerson TV has no power. Standby light doesn't come on when its plugged in.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Emerson tv problems

If you are using a cable or satelite box, the problem could be from mismatch of the volume level between the TV & the source. This is solved by properly adjusting the 2 volume levels to eliminate the buzz. The issue could also be either your speakers or Input/Output PCB. Also be sure it is coming from the speakers. There have been some issues of buzzing caused by vibrating transformers on circuit boards,

Tv will not come on with swith on tv, don't have remote

I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo. 10_30_2012_4_55_47_pm.jpg10_30_2012_4_56_17_pm.jpg
