Dishwasher doesn't wash well.
I have the same/similar problem with the upper arms not rotating. After calling a repairman and having him tell me just how lousy LG is (ok, good for future reference) and charging me $100, he told me that the main motor assy. had to be replaced. He wanted $500 to do it! Ouch!! The dishwasher is 2 years old and I was not about to spend that much cash on it. I dove in to it (not literally) and saw that there is a small valve that rotates allowing water to go to only the bottom arm, top arms or both. That valve wasn't rotating when needed and was stuck allowing water to only go to the bottom arm. I set the valve to allow water to all arms, reassembled the unit and it works perfectly. BTW when I calld the repair shop with that information, all they could do was tell me how foolish it is to buy an expensive dishwasher. Hope this helps someone.
Hoover DT999 - Jammed Door
no. you dont want to take the door off. 1st thing to do is take off the side panels for access to door hinges and you should be able to see what is going wrong.
p.s. take the top panel off first before removing the side panels
Hoover Whisper HD97E
Try checking the water level, and level switch? Is the outlet hose high enough of the floor? If you tip the machine back you should see one or two clear plastic tubes, take one end of these and blow through them and the do it the other way round.
My kenmore dishwasher leaves grime on all my glasses
It probably just has a build up in it, try taking a bowl and filling it with apple cider vinegar (you want cider vinegar because of the citric acid, you can also use tang or frozen o.j) then put the bowl full of vinegar on the lower rack in the dishwasher, do not just pour the vinegar into the dishwasher beacuse the dishwashers 1st cycle is too drain so it will all just drain out, then run the dishwashers heaviest cycle with nothing in the dishwasher but the bowl of vinegar. This will clear out all the debris and hard water deposits throughout the dishwasher. If it seems to clear up your problem try changing your dishwasher soap to Finish I work at a service company and have found this to be the best dishwasher soap on the market. Hope this helps.
White spots left on glasses and silverware
The white residue could be water spots from hard water. They are most notably left on clear plastic glasses, clear glasses, and silverware. If your silverware is authentic sterling silver you shouldn't be washing it in the dishwasher anyways as this ruins it.------
The best advice for the hard water is to use jet dry there should be a dispenser for this on your dishwasher. The other solution is to use those oxi clean tablets or the cascade 2 in 1 gel packs. normally, this is caused by hard water. try using a dying agent like jet dry, it will stop the white spots. good luck.--------

Dishwsher doesn't get disher clean
Hi
If the water inlet
valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float
switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found
inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher
lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for
the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby
shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may
interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to
test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and
touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either
zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down
on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If
the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for
further assistance.

Leak from salt reservoir on the DT999
Replace water softner seals (Hoover spares reference: 91941698) as stated previously. Harraps were doing them for £6 each. The softner is accessed by removing the R/H panel and unscrewing the air break ring nut from inside the machine. They are not a standard size so oem o rings are recommended.
How do I fit a new door gasket to a Hoover DT999
Well I just did this (ew!)
basically it just pulls out of a slot downwards (when doors open) but there's not much space so I took out a few screws to free the door up a bit.
So - sitting with the machine in front of you and door open down towards you:
I took out the two machine screws that hold the door on to the spring/hinge mechanism. Those are the two on the side of the door near to the hinge/bottom.
I also took out 3 of the screws that screw the inside metal bit of the door on to the plastic fron of the door.
You'll notice that the springs then force the inside and outside of the door apart and you've got some free space to pull the bottom seal out of the metal door. Then clean everything and squeeze the new seal in.
You're probably not going to be able to thread it in from one end.
When you're putting those two machine screws back in you'll probably need to do the top screw (nearest you when door open) with the door almost closed so that the spring is most relaxed and will let you line up the two holes.
Hope that helps
Washing leaves spots
If your dishes or glassware appear filmy or spotted following a complete wash cycle, adjusting the amount or type of detergent you're using and adjusting your hot water heater's water temperature may solve the problem. But before you do either of these, put a rinse additive (such as Jet-Dry) in the rinse dispenser to improve the sheeting action of the water.
First you'll have to determine whether the film is removable or permanently etched. To do this, soak a glass in undiluted white vinegar for about 15 minutes. Or, you can wash the glass with warm water and concentrated dishwasher detergent or use a high-phosphate detergent (such as Glass Magic) according to label directions.
If film comes off, it is probably caused by hard water minerals, improper amounts of detergent, or unsuitable water temperature. See "Doesn't wash well," above.
Permanent etching is often caused by a combination of soft water and excessive heat or detergent. If glassware is permanently etched, there isn't anything you can do to make it clear again. But you can avoid future etching by taking these steps:
1) Be sure hot water entering the dishwasher is no hotter than 140 degrees F. Don't use extra hot settings, such as "Power Scrub" and use "Energy Saver" dry cycle.
2) Adjust detergent amount.
3) Don't pre-rinse your dishes before loading them in the dishwasher. Food particles on the dishes actually help the detergent and drying agents clean better.
