Miele G575 Dishwasher

Hi, The dispenser flap on my Miele G575 dishwasher not infrequently fails to open at the correct part of the wash cycle. As a result the powerball detergent is not released and the wash needs to be repeated. Apart from that the unit works perfectly. Would a new dispenser solve the problem? Doccy D

I have a Miele G892 and I noticed for the first time that the soap dispenser never opened. Any ideas?

  • DisgustedInd Feb 24, 2008

We have the same problem. Half the time the flap doesn't open and we have to re-run the load. The dishwasher has also gotten much noisier since the first few quiet months of operation. We're very disappointed in the product and the poor service we've received in trying to fix the problem. A repairman replaced the pump and motor but to no avail.

    Dear all

Thank you for the tips. Below is the definitive solution!

We eventually had to have the Miele Service man out. The problem was
not with the door at all, but was caused by blockage of the water ducts
in the rotor. This resulted in eratic spinning and, apparently this
effects the door opening. Don't ask me how!! Anyhow, he cleaned the
rotor and, behold - problem solved. That was several weeks ago!

If the water level is not adjusted at the right level
(see Miele G 575 manual page 29),
the flap doesn't open at the right circle,or doesn't open at all.
(Cause of the low water level the machine makes more noise!)
======Now shut down the power for the machine!!!=============
To adjust the water level new,you have to open the shield(2 screws) under the
main door.(enginen compartment).(You don't have to move the machine!)
On the right ,right, right, hand side, there is a 6 cm round beige plastic box.
(the first thing you see to you right and very easy access)
Only one black water hose(about 1cm=1/4inch) and a few wires are going into this box.
This is the water level adjustment box.
In the middle of the beige plastic box is a beige plastic screw
to adjust the water level new.Turning it clock vise ,increasing
the water level.
(For the right water level, see page 29 in your G575 Miele manual)
The water level hasn't to be super price.Just in about and enough.
(It seems that the rubber membrane in the water level unit ages
and therefor it has to be readjusted after a longer time)

    Stop,stop stop!
I made a mistake.Don't touch the adjustment box.
99% reason why a Miele is not working properly anymore
is the water level. If the water level isn't reached the pump
is sucking air, therefor the water pressure is dropping down.
Without enough water pressure the flap won't open and
    heat won't start.
The water passing resistance in your Miele increase by
the time because you have sediment in your water. Also
in the ionizing tank(salt water tank and resin filter)could built up after a longer
time alga which slow down the water pressure.
This is not a reason to throw your Miele away.
Miele are made to work 20 years.

Solution:You have to connect in your dial timer pole H6 with B6 with
    a wire.
(You have two H6 pols and two B6 pols.)
(There's a wire plan inside the door.)
Don't do it if you can't do it properly!
Always shout down power by pulling the plug!
(to put the dial switch on 0 is not enough)

This wire connection is double the time in which water can flow into the machine.
My machine is now working like a new Miele.
I found this "trick" in a German forum.
You should also check the filter right in the beginning of
your Miele hose.Therefor you have to unscrew (by hand)the hose
from the house water tap.If you look inside the fresh water hose of your
Miele ,you can see a small filter for sand inside.
If it is dirty, you can pull it easily out with a pair of pliers.
Clean it and put it back.
Check at the same time the house water tap if it is giving still
enough water and pressure. The tape could be slowed down
    by sediment over the years.

a kind of algues that increases

Sorry,I made again mistakes in my writing
and I don't know how to correct it.
Correction:"If the water level isn't high enough, the pump sucking air."
and instead of" hose water tab" I meant" faucet".

Watch also for how you load the upper rack. The flap opens inward and the rack has an opening to permit full opening. If this is blocked by your dishes, the flap won't open properly.

It could be jammed with old and hardened dishwasher detergent which dries like cement, preventing the little door from opening up. Clean the soap dispenser area with warm water and a toothbrush, especially underneath the area where the cover springs open.

It is caused by not enough water being allowed in by the 'flood protector'. You know, that weird lump on the inlet hose at the tap.
Mine has been slowly getting worse and worse. Seems it needs good water pressure to open the flap and it can't achieve it unless the correct amount of water is in the washer.
Currently I just chuck a couple of pans of water in at the start and again at 32 minutes for the rinse.

Will a Miele G575 Soap/rinse aid dispenser fit and work in a G664 dishwasher

The Soap/rinse aid dispenser of a Miele G575 is not compatible to be used in a G664 dishwasher. It is important to note that the dispenser is model-specific and not interchangeable between different models of Miele dishwashers. It is recommended to check the manual of your G664 dishwasher or contact Miele customer support to make sure you get the correct dispenser for your appliance.

Miele dishwasher G664 - door to cleaner dispenser doesn't open

Could be soap buildup in the dispenser or on the door hinges. Try running leaving the dispenser door open and run a wash only cycle. It may wash out any soap buildup.

We have a Miele G 870 SC dishwasher. The soap dispenser always opens properly to dispense soap if we run the Economy cycle, but it always stays closed if we run a Normal or Intensive cycle.

I would certainly check with the repairman and have it checked. It is possible that a connection may have been missed since the new dispenser was installed.

The detergent flap does not open

Check the dispenser for easy close & open. Trouble could be- latch relay not getting energized- wires might have snapped - relay driver - command not reaching from the controller etc.

If you check all the points you will get an idea. I feel micro-controller may not have any problem as other cycle is OK.

Further assistance contact the authorized service center.

Miele G660 premier dishwasher

There is a solenoid that opens the door to the dispenser. You can check it with a volt/ohm meter. Sometimes large dishes can block the door keeping it from opening. I personally know on some Whirlpool washers (because it was mine) that if the bottom drawer is put in backwards, it wont let the door open. When I opened the main door, then the dispenser would flop open. You need a meter to check this part if its not the other things. Without it, you are just guessing.

Miele G575 slow and insufficient water fill

The unit has a double valve system, the waterproof, it could be that one of the valves is not opening fully. They can break down over time. This would mean you need a new one. This should fix the problem.
Open the door once the wash has started and check the water level. It could be that it is siphoning out half way through the wash. Make sure your drain hose is secured up properly.
If when you open the wash and there is not enough water, it is most likely the waterproof, as I stated before.
cheers.

Dishwasher Miele G575

It could be a motor or a pump issue. The dishwasher has a motor that attached to a pump which forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. The motor (and pump) located beneath the dishwasher. Regarding the screwdriver adjustment- This is the rinse aid dosage adjuster. To obtain the best drying results, use the selector on setting 5. When dishes show spots, set it to a higher setting. Turn lower if dishes are cloudy. Good luck!

Miele G575

This sounds like the overflow trip switch has been activated. Some time back I had this problem with a Miele G664. The service man undid 4 screws on the door and removed front panel and found water in the drip tray, He then checked the pipes, outlet pipe had a pice of plastic bread tag stuck in it , this was slowing down the time it took to empty the water and the next fill made it overflow and switch off the dishwasher. He cleaned out the chanel on the overflow that was full of dust and fluff checked the levels to make sure the dishwasher was sitting true. Closed it all up and ran the dishwasher. Perfect!

Bill $160. It did take him the best part of an hour and I live a long way out of town.
