Thanks - worked on my Classixx 6 washer after 10 to 15 attempts. The last time I tried it I counted 5 seconds between each step.
Start with knob at 12 o'clock position.
Turn knob to 6 o'clock position - wait 5 seconds
press and continue to hold Spin button - wait 5 seconds
move knob 1 notch clockwise - wait 5 seconds
let go of Spin button - wait 5 seconds
move knob forward to 12 o'clock position.
Keep trying this as often as it takes for it to work.

looked on and tried a couple of other sites that gave same answer, but did not work. tried the 5 second wait between each step as you say, and it worked first time.
This worked for me first time (y)
this worked for me!
Hi I don't have a button it's touch screen?
Yes this got rid of my F21 Code after I fitted new Motor Brushes. Took me a few goes until I saw the Start Button light flash as I turned it back to 12 from 7 o clock then I turned it back on and the Fault code had gone. Now the Washing is on and the hole job cost Ā£10.00.

Same as above, but turn off at mains first then on. then turn knob to six o'clock position.
Wow thanks for that, took 10 times but really does work, phew!
Did this and got rid of the code. Tried to run it through a quick cycle. I can hear the water filling but then it just stops and shows what looks like a basket on the display?
F21 error code means Time out / No motor action. This problem can be due to worn motor brushes. F21 also means Long Drain error. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem or obstruction somewhere in the drainage system.
Maud, thanks a million, was losing the faith there but it did work. Does that message mean I should get the machine services??
Woked perfect , once just went one click towards 7 oclock
Worked.
Thanks a million.
Leaving the 5sec gap between steps...
??????????????
Thanks a million for the reset info Pat and Mr Floyd. Just replaced the brushes (bit dear at Ā£30) and thought I had fixed the wrong problem. Took just 3 attempts for it to work but sure enough cleared it. Repairs of old machines more important given recent Which? story on sealed drum units.

Hi,
F21 is a motor or control board fault.
This also can be caused by voltage spikes or surges...
To reset it.
Turn the appliance knob to the off or reset position, 12 o'clock.
Turn the knob to the 6 o'clock position.
Press and hold the spin button.
While holding it, turn the knob to the 7 o'clock position.
Continue holding the spin button for about 5 seconds.
Release the button.
Turn the knob to off.
When your turn it back on it should have cleared the error code
If the problem continues then check the motor...
