The Netflix app on my vizio svt422xvt (one of the Vizios with VIA internet & wifi built-in) won't connect to Netflix. It directs me to the Netflix website for help, but Netflix help tells me to contact the manufacturer. The app starts, but it doesn't connect to the Netflix server. Other internet apps, such as Facebook, appear to work fine. Thanks for any help!

I had the same problem with my Vizio XVT473SV. I couldn't find the Netflix Activation Code. When I clicked on the Netflix App, the TV would ask me if I wanted to connect to Netflix, then it would ask me if I was a Netflix member. After clicking yes to both, it would tell me it couldn't connect to the Netflix server, check with Netflix.com/tvhelp. After a couple hours of troubleshooting, the solution was......your first use of the Netflix App has to be via the Ethernet Port/Cable. This will give you a screen with the Activation Code, after you activate the code in your Netflix account, you can go back to using WiFi on your Vizio TV to connect to Netflix. Step by step instructions are...
1) Exit the Vizio Netflix App.
2) Physically connect an Ethernet cable to your broadband (just temporarily)
3) Check to make sure the Vizio is using the Ethernet port and not your WiFi (Apps Button - HDTV Settings - Network...may have to reboot the TV to get Ethernet port connection)
4) Start the Vizio Netflix App
5) Click OK to start the Netflix App
6) You should now see a different screen that gives you the Netflix Activation Code.
7) On your Computer, Login in to Netflix,
8) Click on "Your Account & Help" link on upper right corner
9) Scroll down to Watching Instantly on your TV or Computer section
10) Click on Activate a Netflix Ready Device
11) Enter the Activation Code shown on your Vizio TV and click Activate
12) Once your Netflix account (on your computer) shows it is active, your Vizio TV will automatically log in. You should see your Instant Queue.
13) Exit the Netflix App, unplug the Ethernet cable, Turn Off your Vizio TV.
14) After 20 seconds or so (remember the TV is software driven), turn the TV back on and your WiFi should connect again.
15) Use your Netflix App and this time it should automatically connect via WiFi
note: just make sure that your wireless DSL/Cable Modem or Wireless Router is not blocking your WiFi connection request from the Vizio. You can check the connection status in the modem/router or in the Vizio in the HDTV Settings - Network.

I recently purchased a VIZIO E550i - B2 and had the same problem at set up. i called Customer service and it was resolved pretty quick. here is what I needed to do. (This is for a wireless internet connection)
1) First of course be sure your wifi is working, this should have been confirmed during the initial setup.
2) Go into the VIZIO menue and scroll down to Network and open it (OK Button)
3) Scroll down to Test Connection and open it (Same as above)
4) See if anything is registering where it says download (in my case it was blank)
5) The service rep had me unplug the VIZIO, then go to my router and unplug it for 15 sec., then return to the VIZIO and hold the power button on the TV set in for 30 sec.,then plug the VIZIO back in and turn it on using the remote.
6) then I went to Netflix from there and I was able to register the VIZIO with my existing Netflix Account. Or , if I needed to I could have opened a new Netflix account.

I hope this helps.

I want to watch netflix in my bedroom. It works fine in living room.my tv is a vizio

How is the tv connected to the internet? WiFi? Ethernet cable? Could just be a weak WiFi signal if thats how you have it connected, or a bad ethernet cable, does any of the other apps connect to the internet and work? Is the internet connection to it properly connected and setup even? Need more details.

How do I download movie on a smart tv via the Internet

First you have to hook up the tv to the internet either using WiFi or an ethernet cable from your modem or router. Not all tvs are WiFi ready, so you may need a cable. Follow the directions in your manual to complete internet setup. Using your smart tv remote control, navigate to apps. You can choose Hulu, Netflix, or many other services for watching shows and movies. You must sign up for their services using your email address and sometimes pay for them with Paypal or a credit card. There may be some apps on your smart tv that are free and do not require signup. Using your remote, navigate around and try different apps and services and see what you can find. The apps with the best content usually require that you sign up, but a smart tv will have some built in "free" stuff to watch.

Just bought a Vizio smart TV. Started free trial of Netflix. Why do Movies take forever to start and when they finally start, it freezes after only minutes of viewing.

What is your internet speed? From my experience you need at least 2Mbps. Have you connected it via Ethernet cable?

Need help adding Netflix on my VIZIO tv

Make sure you have a smart TV (has the netflix App preloaded). Then make sure your TV is connected to the internet via wired or wireless. Once this is complete bring up the vizio menu (hit the V button on the remote) and then you can open the Netflix app and sign in. If you do not have a "smart tv" then you will need some other device like a PS3, Wii or other to access netflix.

I just bought a m221nv from ebay tv dealer an he said i could jus plug it in in my kitchen, bedrm or ? and watch it via my router cause it has wifi no need connect cable, antenna or anything but i cant get...

The wifi connection will allow you to access content via the Vizio Internet Apps (Netflix for example) but not tv broadcasts.
Your tv can access tv broadcasts (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC) over the air but w/o an external antenna the signal and therefore the quality will probably be weak.
To access cable/direct tv/fios content you will need to connect the tv via a cable.

Just purchased a Vizio 37" HDTV with Netflix app

The Vizio does not have Internet capabilities. You need to hook up a computer via the VGA or HDMI port. Then youor computer controls what you do with the intenet.
